PAPAKURA BUS SERVICE

WORKERS' TICKETS DEARER.

An intimation was received by the Papakura Town Board last evening that it is proposed to increase the cost of workers' weekly bus tickets as follow s. Auckland-Papakura, 7/ instead of 6/; Auckland-Takanini, 6/6 instead of 5/6, Auckland-Manurewa, 6/ instead of 5/.

The proprietors of the bus service gave as their reason that recently several complaints of overloading had been lodged and they must take 'some steps to run additional buses, but could not do so at present rates. It was proposed to apply for a temporary license to run an additional bus daily from Auckland to Papakura at 1.55 p.m., returning from P.apakura at 3.15 p.m. for the city, excepting Saturdays. This would relieve the long gap in the service between noon and i p.m. The Town decided to offer no objections to the proposed increase, and also to assist in support of the additional trips.'-
