TOURIST TROPHY RACE. STANLEY WOODS' SEVENTH WIN. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, June 20. The lightweight motor cycle Tourist Trophy race over the Isle of Man course on Wednesday was won for the seventh time by Stanley Woods, riding a Gum. His average speed was 71.46 miles an hour. Tyrell Smith, on a Rudge, was second, 70 67 miles an hour, and G. L. Nott, on a Rudo-e, third, 69.37 miles an hour. D J. Pirie crashed during the race and died later from his injuries. Woods holds the course record for an Tsle of Man T.T., having attained an average speed of more than 81 milesi an hour in the senior event in 1933; in which year also he won the junior contest at 78 miles an hour. The death of D. J. Pine is the second fatality to have occurred in this years series of races. In the junior event held on Monday J. MncDonald, who was making his first appearance as a professional, was killed when he crashed into a bridge during a fierce struggle in the fourth lap. There was a fatality also in the lightweight event last year, the 1929 winner, Grabtree, being killed. The road circuit of 37% miles on the Isle of Man, which has to be completed seven times, is one of the most hazardous in the world and includes many difficult bends. The final race of this years series, the senior event, was scheduled for 1 to-day.
