ROTORUA DISPUTE. HEADMASTERS' PRIVILEGE. UPHELD BY N.Z. RUGBY UNION. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)' ROTORUA, this day. A situation which is reminiscent of the trouble which occurred between the Thames Rugby Union and the headmaster of the High School lias arisen at Rotorua, where a dispute has occurred between the authorities of the Rotorua High School and the Rotorua Sub-union in connection with the decision of the headmaster of the school to play interschool Rugby football fixtures on the school ground instead'of on the union's playing area, Arawa Park. The union contended that it had jurisdiction in the matter, but when tho headmaster contested this point it was referred to the New Zealand Union for a ruling. A letter has now been received by the local union advising tin , the New* Zealand Union does not con sidrr it has jurisdiction and that headmasters of schools are at liberty to arrange inter-school matches to be played anywhere they choose. '* The president of the sub-union, Mr, T. Anderson, commenting on the roUnp, said that it placed the local Rugoy foot' ball authorities in a very Jifticult position. He contended that under the pub-union's constitution it was empowered to control all games in its district, and exnressed the opinion that the New Zealand Union could not have considered certain correspondence which his union had sent to it. He expressed his intention of asking his executive to cancel the affiliation of the High School with the sub-union.
