"JIGGERS" COLLIDE.
SURFACEMAN LOSES LEG. TWO OTHERS INJURED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL", this day. Two motor "jiggers" came into collision on the Tuatapere branch railway line late on Saturday night, with the result that John Stenton, a surfaceman, suffered a leg injury, necessitating amputation in the Riverton hospital. Mrs. Jackson, wife of the guard stationed at Tuatapere, who was a passenger on one "jigger," received injuries to one hand, and mr. H. Jackson himself suffered slight concussion. Two travellers on the other "jigger" escaped injury.
