PLUNKET WORK.
AVONDALE BRANCH. . On Thursday an enjoyable afternoon, held in Avondale Bowling pavilion, was given by Mrs. Percy Adams, New Windsor Road, in aid of the local branch of the Plunket Society. During the afternoon a delightful musical programme, arranged by Mrs. Bollard, included pianoforte solos by Mrs. Bollard; songs, by Mrs. Owen and Miss James; recitations by Miss Whale and Miss Browne. The winner'of the competition was Mrs. Runciman. A dainty afternoon tea was served. Among those present were: Mrs. Ritchie, secretary; Mrs. Browne, treasurer, Mrs. Turley, hon. vice-president, Nurse Walbran, Mesdames Howie, Graham, Nesbitt, Penrose, Marsden, Banks, Davies, P. G. Wright, G. Chandler, Adams, sen., Paice, Blundell, Whales, Cantanche, Runciman, Halsted, Hart, A. Fullerton, Bolton, Blumenthal, F. Everton, Buchanan, Brightwell, Misses Marks, Browne, Chandler,. Whales, E. Moore, A. Stewart, N. Rogers.
