DR. PHILIP CARRINCTON.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. According to private advice received. Dr. Philip Carrington, formerly of : Chrietchurch, a son of the Rev. C. W. • Carrington, has been appointed Anglican Bishop of Qifjbec. He is at present dean . and professor of divinity at the University of Bishop's College, Lennoxvilk, : Canada. ' Dr. Carrington graduated M.A. from I Canterbury College in 1915, and later won high scholastic honours at Cambridge. Ho was ordained a priest in ' Christchurch in 1919, and later was a j vicar in country districts. He also ■ earned distinction as an author. Recently the University of New Zealand conferred on him the degree of doctor of divinity for his work, "The Meaning of the Revelation."
