STREET MEETINGS.
NEW BY.LAW ADOPTED.
I The City Council, at a special meeting last evening, adopted the new by-law decided upon at its last meeting, removing the need to obtain permits to hold processions or street meetings except lor streets specially mentioned as being unsuitable on account of traffic con* gestion, and Albert Park. The new by-law will come into operation nc.Nt Wednesday. ■ Miss E. Melville endeavoured to have the by-law amended to confine the Domain meetings to the cririkct ground. This was opposed by Labour menibei'E, and the by-law was adopted without alteration.
