KEEN INTEREST IN POLL
MR. J. P. SHEEEfAN. ELECTED.

Considerable interest was taken at Taupo yesterday in the election of a member of the Taupo Koad Board to fill the vacancy caused by the recent resignation of Mr. J. Lotighlin. The poll was the heaviest recorded.in an election of the board for many years. There is a total of 480 names recorded -on the rolls, but a large proportion or theso persons fre absentees and were unable 'to record their votes. The final figures gave Mr. J. P. Sheehan a majority of 54. The voting was as follows:—John Patrick Slieehan 73, Wilford Beaumont Orr 10, Edward Keeves 11. /
