AUCKLAND CONVENTION.
YEAR'S WORK REVIEWED.
The forty'third annual convention of the Auckland Auxiliary of the Baptist Union of. New Zealand was held in the Ponsonby Baptist Church yesterday. The president, the Rev. J. Laird, presided. A resolution of congratulation and loyalty to ,the King was paesed before the beginning of the business session.
Congratulations on the jubilee of tho Auckland Tabernacle were contained in the annual report. Reference to the several new churches built in the district during the year are also made in the report. Mise Bechingsale was .welcomed after 39 years' continuous service in East Bengel. Receipts for the year totalled £1238. Grants amounting to £518 had been mnde to churches, and £200 had been granted to four churches under the circuit system. The circulating loan fund showed that £2554 was on loan to 20 churches, and £493 had been repaid to the fund during the year. The followirg officers were elected: — President, Mr. J. Heaton Barkqr; vicepresident. Rev, C. Chant; secretary, Rev. J. Hiddlestone; treasurer, Mr. W. Bigelowj minute secretary, Mr. W. H. Newton; executive, Messrs. S. Barry, W. A. Crmg, A. T, Dow, H. Dearsley, R. Donovan. F. Eade, F. W. Gaze, P. E. Hayward, A. G. Jones, H. C. Kitchon, F. E. Kretschmar, W. A. Kendon, C. K. Mills, J. A. Penman, A. R. Penman, S. T. Page, H. S. Reynolds, F. Thorpe, H. Turner, and I. Watson; hon. auditor, Mr. W. H. Moore; hon. solicitor, Mr. N. S. Gaze.
The women's division of the church entertained the delegates to afternoon tea. • •
