CONTRACT BRIDGE.
PASCOE CUPS TOURNAMENT. The Auckland Bridge Club's tourney for the Pascoe Cups was advanced a further stage when the third competition of the series was held. On this occasion the cards were dealt by the players, and this system will be continued. On board s\o9, where North opened the bidding with one no trump and his partrer held six diamonds to the King and was void of Spades, it was possible against the best defence to get six diamonds, but the little slam was not bid at any table, the hand being generally played in no trumps. The North-South' winners were Messrs. C. Bruce Smith and Roet. and runners-up Captain TV. Atwell and Mr. N. O. Morgan. Mrs. Shroff and Mr. A. R. Houking were the East-West winners, with Mrs. Parkinson and Mrs. Newall second.
