TWO THIEVES CAUGHT.
STOW FROM MOTOR CARS.
Two men who had been arrested by Detective H. Wilson appeared in the Police Court yesterday on charges of stealing overcoats and rugs from motor cars. Andrew John McDonald, labourer, aged 40, pleaded guilty to the theft of a leather overcoat valued at £8 8/ and a run , worth £2. "Hard labour does not seem to do you any ffood," said tho magistrate aa he perused McDonald's list of convictions. •'Last year vou served 10 months in prison/and although this ia only the fifth month of the present year, you have: already served four months in prison." , , McDonald was sentenced to one month'* imprisonment <»" cat-h of t» e two charge*, tho sentences to be concurrent, followed by two years re formotive detention, , r On each of throe summary charges of (.tealine a mi "»<• two overcoats, William John Newman, plasterer, ajjed f>u, was sentenced to one month's Imprisonment, to be ctinuilative. On two indictiible enarpoa of stealing a leather overcoat worth £8 8/ nnd an overcoat and rug worth £2 10/ he pleaded guilty nnd was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
