REGATTA SOCIAL.

The dancing , season at Xorthcole was■ opened last evening, when there was a large gathering at the annual prizegiving social of the Xorthcote and Birkenhead Regatta Committee. The presentations were inaje by the president, Captain H. H. .Sergeant, harbourmaster, who was accompanied by lite daughter, Miss A. C. Sergeant. The ladies' committee comprised Mesdanies J. Diekson, A. W. Millar, B. Reed, T. Boyd, Misses Julia McGiln, Verona Devlin, J. Jordan. T. Couldrey, Edna Verran, Kdiia Wilkins. and B. Couldrey. There was ail attractive display of model yachts and prize tl'Oplrirs in front of the stage, and the supper tables were tastefully laid out. The mastery of ceremonies were Messra. C. J. W. Taylor, F.
