Preceded by a devotional address from tlie Rev. W. Bower Black, the Y.W.C.A. board meeting- was held on Friday to transact the routine monthly business. Special business included the appointment of a committee, with Mrs. T. Derrick as convener, to consider nominations to vacancies on the board of directors for the new financial year; mid arrangements were made also for a members' afternoon in June to entertain Miss Jean ISegg prior to her departure from New Zealand. A letter was read from the Mayoress, Mrs. E. Davis, graciously accepting the board's invitation to open the world fellowship fair on May M. Changed In staff personnel were discussed and interim plans decided upon. Miss R. Scott laid before the directors the scheme for a publicity and finance campaign to be undertaken shortly. Approval was expressed for the good work being done in the health education department and the success of the Indoor Basketball Association. Attention was drawn to the fact that now thnt 7! permanent boarders were in residence in the hostel, applications for both permanent and transient board could not always be complied with.
