MINISTERS' LUNCHEON
CHRISTIANITY IX THE EAST,
A ministers' luncheon organised bv the Auckland Presbytery was {riven to Dr. Kagawa thin afternoon. There was an attendance of about 150, a large proportion being ministers, Welcomes were ox tend e<l by the chairman, the Rev. ty P. Rankin, moderator, on behalf of' the Presbytery, and by the Rev. E. D. Patchett fur the Council of Christian Congregations. "Julian is the deciding battleground of tin; Christian movement in the Orient," said Dr. Kagawa. He went on to explain that the demand f or Japanese books was very great jjj China. "Unless Christianity is y \ Q . torious in Japan," iie said, "we cannot pass on Christian culture and y,? Christian religion to Korea or China/ , ' Dr. Kagawa referred to the traditions and religions of the East that Christianity bad to break down. He gave also a brief history of the "King<l om of God" movement for the spread inn of Christian idealism.
