PACIFIC LINERS.

MATSGN COMPANY'S PLANS. SCHEDULE FOR AORANGI. A liner which previously has only visited Auckland in the course of a tourist cruise, the Mutson Company's Lurline, is to make one round trip in the company's regular United StatesNew Zealand-Australia service. The change is being made in order to allow the two liners at present engaged in the service, the Monterey and the Mariposa, to undergo their annual overhaul.

The Monterey is to withdraw from the service on arrival at San Francisco on October 7, and her place will be taken by the Lurline, sailing from San Francisco on October 15. The Mariposa is to undergo her overhaul and survey in the following month, being scheduled to withdraw from the service on November 4. The next sailing from San Francisco following the Mariposa \s withdrawal will 1)0 taken by the Monterey, leaving on November 12. The Mariposa will reaumo in tho service on December 10, in which month the Lurline will revert to her usual run.

A sister whip to the other two liners, the Lurline. is at present engaged in the Sun Francisco-Honolulu service. On the trip on which she in to replace the Monterey ehe will arrive at Auckland on her way to Australia on November J, and on her return trip is due at this port on November 10, sailing the sumo day for Suva, Pago Pago, Honolulu, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Aorangi's Programme. The Union Steam Ship Company's motor liner Aoiiingi is also approaching the time for her overhaul, and arrangements have been made for her. after two more round voyages, to lie replaced for one trip in the trans-I'acifle passenger service. Leaving Auckland this evening, the Aorangi will proceed to Sydney, and thence will return to Vancouver, via Auckland. Suva and Honolulu. She is scheduled to leave Vancouver on June 1!) and again on August 12. On the latter trip it is expected that her saloon accommodation will be fully taxed, as she will be carrying a large number of delegates to the British Medical Association's Conference, to be held in Melbourne. For the convenience of these travellers arrangements have been made for the Aorangi, instead of ending her voyage at Sydney, to go on to Melbourne for this one trip.

On her return to Sydney from Melbourne on September 17 the Aorangi will withdraw for overhaul and iuspect ion. Her place in th<> company's passenger, mail and cargo service will lie taken for (mo trip by the Monowai, which is at present engaged in the intercolonial running. 'J ho Monowai is timetabled to leave Sydney on September 12. and is due back there njjain from Vancouver on November 2. In that week nlic will revert to the trans-Tasinan service, the Aorungi scheduled to resume in the Pacific service oil November 7.
