JUBILEE DINNER
OVERSEAS LEAGUE.
To celebrate the King's Silver Jubilee a dinner was given at Hotel Cargen last evening by the Auckland branch of the Oversea League. The Hon. John Alexander, M.L.C., presided over an attendance of about 100 guests. An address on "The Lives of King George and Queen Mary" was given by Sir George Richardson, who gave an outline of the chief events of the reign, with special reference to the period of the war. Short addresses were also given by the Mayor, Mr. G. W. Hutchison, and by Sir Frank Fox, a member of the Overseas League Council. Miss Ida Walker sang two solos.
