RUMOUR DENIED.
NEW ZEALAND LEGION.
DISBANDMENT NOT INTENDED,
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
WELLINGTON, Monday.
Rumours current in many quarters that the disbandmeiit of the New Zea'land Legion would take place immediately after the municipal elections were referred to-night to Dr. R. Campbell Begg, leader of the movement. "This rumour is merely a contemptible election device on the part of our /opponents to damage us at the elections," said Dr. Begg. "Reports ol the decrease of the legion have been put into circulation for several years. A similar canard was put forward on the eve of the legion conference last year. There is nothing in the rumours."
