(By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") CHRISTCHUKCH, this day. There was a very quiet call this morning, with the bulk of the transactions m mining. Buyers were in every Potion for Government stocks and bonds, but sellers staved right off the market. Among the banks Australasia were quoted clo / se ',"' th 1 1)11 vers at £10 17/6 and sellers 5/ above. ; New Zealand appcuied stronK, tj'e mai'ket standing from £2 10/9 to £2 11/6. * Brewery section was dull, but quotations for New Zealand were as strong as ever, with buyers at £2 15/4 and sellers wide 1 at £2 18/. Tooth's were also very firm : from £2 12/ to £2 13/. Claude Neon , (Sydney) bad hardening quotations, ' buvera going to £2 7/3. Dunlops were stronger, with buying offers at 17/3, and sellers retired to 2d above. Mount Lyell " lost fractionally in the mining sectl °"' with business and further sellers at £1.
