WHANGAREI NOTES
Mr. and Mrs. IT. W. Parkinson, of Ilillsboro', Auckland, are visiting Wliangarei. Mrs. E. Hartley, who has been the guest of Mrs. Marsden Woods, returned to Auckland by Friday's express. Mr. and Mrs. W. Hoff, of Christcliurch, are guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Menzies, Ha tea Street. Miss E. McCarroll, of Whangarei, was a passenger from Auckland to Sydney by the Wanganella, which left yesterday. Miss Majorie Brown, of Towai, is a patient in the Kawakawa Hospital. Her condition is satisfactory after an operation for appendicitis. While on a tour of the North, which will include the Waipoua Kauri Forest and Bay of Islands, Mrs. Cecil Kennedy is spending a few days with her sister-in-law, Mrs. Duncan Cook, Kamo Road, before returning to her home in Dumfrieshire, Scotland.
A pleasing little function took place at the office of Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., during the week, when Miss F. Meyer, who had been transferred to the Sydney branch of the firm, was farewelled. In the absence of the manager, Mr. J. A. Archibald, on behalf of the staff, presented Miss Meyer with a suitcase. Miss Meyer departed for her new home by the Wanganella yesterday.
