OPOTIKI FARMERS.
RE-ELECTION OF PRESIDENT. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) OPOTIKI, Friday. At the annual meeting of the Opotiki Farmers' Union Mr. A. E. Martin was re-elected president. It was resolved to suggest to the Prime Minister and Minister of Lands that lands in the Waiimi district, acquired recently for native settlement, should be resumed and thrown open for European settlement.
The president in his annual report, reviewed the work of the union during the year, and appealed for a larger measure of support by farmers of tho district.
