BRIAN BORU DREDGE. In a circular to shareholders, the directors of Brian Boru Gold Dredging Company, Limited (Greymouth), mentioning the decision published last Saturday to suspend dredging operations until such time as the ground in and approaching Brian Boru Gully has been adequately tested, state that within the last week or two the dredge worked through the site of the No. 7 bore, and although the results were appreciably better than they had hecn, they were much below expectations. The rest of the face dredged was found to be practically all clay, with the result that the average value on the total yardage worked was reduced very considerably. For some time past the company had operated at a loss, and it was thought desirable to use the remaining financial resources in testing the ground before any dredging was done.

MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. Mfctaki. —During the week ending the 24th inst. the dredtre pulled ahead r>4ft in ground the average depth of which was 10ft. The lencth of the face is now rSfSOft. The dredge had a good run for the week. There is no change to report in the nature of the ground, the little solid wash that came in on the outside of the cut ran out, and the whole of the cut in the river has been worked.
