KING COUNTRY ROADS.
ONE HIGHWAY CLOSED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TAUMARUXUI, this day. Tho recent heavy rain has hceii responsible for many slips coining down on roads in King Country districts, and during the past few days extra workmen have been busily engaged in clearing a way for traffic. The To Kuiti-Bulls main highway, between Owhango and Oio, which is being widened and straightened, is now closed for traffic, and motorists going south have to travel to Raurimu, via Oio \o. 2 road and Kaitieke. Xotices warning motorists that the road has been closed have been posted at the Oio Xo. 2 road and at Hukapapa. j
A few dry days will enable workmen to pumice the road, which will then be available for traffic.
