EMPIRE TRAVEL.
I I Mr. A. Hamilton's Suggestion For Conference. PLAN OF MUTUAL BENEFIT. (Received 2 p.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The suggestion that an Empire conference be held to develop travel within the Empire was made by Mr. A. Hamilton, Postmaster-General in New Zealand, in addressing the New South Wales Travel League, which entertained the Minister at luncheon to-day. Mr. Hamilton said that such a conference would bring about a greater knowledge and understanding among the Empire units, and considerably enhance Empire trade and co-operation. It would also help shipping in a practical manner. He had no doubt that an equitable method of securing funds for such a development would easily be propounded. The Minister suggested that when the Empire Prime Ministers met in London for the King's jubilee, they should diecuss preliminary arrangements for a conference of the kind indicated.
