Additional Water Bore.—-It was decided that the matter of sinking an additional water bore be refered to the waterworks committee. Whether it would be advisable to sink a second bore, and mn the pump at full capacity for a short period was well worth investigating. » Alsatian Dors. —The board decided to support the resolution of the Suburban Local Bodies' Association that the Government be urged to amend the Dog Registration Act to enable local bodies to fix the maximum registration fee for Alsatianbred dogs. The foreman stated that owing to the nature of the work on that road, if the five men promised were unused to such work he would be no beter off. Other Works.—Mr. Slaughter's visit la6t week-end resulted in plans and specifications having to be prepared by the engineer for all needed works of a per- ' manent nature. Such works will be subsidised by the board, but no maintenance works can be included. Analysis of Local Water.—This showed that water obtained from the bores at Bowling Green and Jellicoe Streets was good, but that near the Mission Hall showed traces of pollution. Water Supply.—A petition signed by 100 ratepayers was read, protesting against the water scheme as proposed by the board. An offer by the Papakura Town Board to supply at Manurewa town boundary water at 9d per 1000 gallons was received. A report from the Health Department stated that copious rains having fallen lately in the district, the urgent necessity now no longer existed and that a poll of ratepayers would be necessary. Mr. Pegler stated that this reply from the Board of Health was one more temporary setback to the progress of the district. He had no desire to discuss the methods adopted by the. opposition, which would all be ventilated! in public at a later data. '
