MOUNT EDEN BATHS.
FILTRATION AND HEATING. Following upon a letter from the medical officer of health re the condition of water at the Mount Eden baths the baths committee of the Mount Eden Borough Council recommended last evening that a committee consider the question of providing a filtration plant. It said the custodian had been instructed to change the water more frequently and give strict attention to chlorination. Mr. S. E. Chappcll said that while the committee was giving the baths consideration, the question of installing a heating plant should be gone into. If such a plant were installed it would make the baths an attraction all the year round. Mr. K. N. Buttle said unless improvements were made at the baths the council would be losing business. A hen 1 ing plant would be a great advantage. Mr. T. Davidson said to instal a heating plant would cost about £1800, and he thought it was a matter for the incoming council. It whs decided the baths committee should have a report ready for the incoming council.
