COUNTY ELECTIONS.
VOTERS IN ARREARS
(By Telegraph.— Parliamentary Reporter,) WELLINGTON, this day. The question of the voting rights at the approaching county council elections of ratepayers whose payments are in arrear was raised in thfi House of Representatives yesterday by Mr. A. Stuart (Government, Rangitikei), who asked tho Government to re-enact legislation to permit voting by ratepayers who wore not more than two years in arrear.
The Minister ot Internal Affairs, Sir Alexander Young, replied that there had been no requests from the county councils for the re-enactment of the legislation, but he would arrange to have the matter considered by the Government.
