PROPERTY SALES.
ARREARS OF RATES. LITTLE COMPETITION. Only a dozen or so prospective buyers were present when Messra Richard Arthur, Ltd., instructed by the Registrar of the Supreme Court, offered for sale by auction yesterday a number of properties in the Waitcmata county on which the rates were overdue. Two properties, one of 592 acres at the Huia, Manukau Harbour, and one ot one rood in Ramsgate Terrace, Murray s Bay were withdrawn from the sale immediately before it began. There was little competition for the others, lliree were sold, a section in Rotheeay Bay Road, Brown's Bay, for £15 10/, one in Areyle Road, Brown's Bay, for £ 19, ami one in Cliff Road, Deep Creek Estate, Torbay, comprising two sections, for *4U. Three others were offered, one at Silverdale, one at Cornwallis and one in JVlcIntee's Road, adjoining the Birdwood Estate, north of Swanson, but for none of these was there a bid equal to the reeerve, which amounted to the total arrears of rates, plus legal and auctioneers' expenses.
