EDUCATION NEEDS.
AUCKLAND BOARD MEETS. "This is one of the most pressing needs. It is a. question of a suitable site at a suitable figure," said the chairman, Mr. T. U. Wells, when a letter was received at the Education Board this morning from Mr. G. H. Roche, teacher at Surfdale, Waibekc. who asked whether there was a reasonable prospect of a school building being built within the next few months. It was decided to renew the board's application to the Education Department for a grant. That the subject of the main roads and highways of Xew Zealand should be included when geography lessons are being given to children was a recommendation contained in a letter from the Auckland School Committee's Association. It was decided to send on the recommendation to the Education Department.
