AMERICAN RACING.
SENSATIONAL FINISH. EQUIPOISE WINS, BUT IS DISQUALIFIED. (Received 11 a.m.) LOS ANGELES, February 19. One of the most sensational comebacks in the history of the turf was that of Twenty Grand, who beat his famous rival Equipoise in the final preliminary for the Santa Anita Handicap of 100,000 dollars next Saturday. Twenty Grand has been at the stud for four years since he won the Kentucky Derby, but left no progeny. Twenty Grand led throughout. Equipoise was third until twenty lengths from the post, and then challenged, but bored towards the rails, winning by a length, but was disqualified for crowding.
