FAMOUS INVENTOR.
HUGO JUNKERS DEAD. (Received 12.30 p.m.) MUNICH, February 3. The death has occurred of Professor Hugo Junkers, famous German aeroplane designer, inventor and constructor, at the age of 70. M. J. H. WHITLEY. EX-SPEAKER'S DEATH. (Received 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, February 3. The deatli is announced of Mr. John Henry Whitley, Speaker of the House of Commons from 1021-28. On retirement, he declined a peerage, but was voted a pension of £4000 a year. He married for the second time in. 1928, at the age of 09. He was in Parliament for 28 years. He served on the Indian ,Labour Royal Commission of 1929, and in June, 1930, was appointed chairman of the 8.8.C. at £3000 a year.
