VERBAL SETTLEMENT.
SINO-JAPANESE DISPUTE. (Received 11.30 a.m.) PEIPINC, February 3. Following a Aveek's preliminary conversations, tlie Chaliar-Jehol border dispute was settled at a conference between Japanese and Chinese military officers. According to a Chinese official version, a verbal agreement was reached whereby the Japanese undertook to withdraw their troops from the disputed area, while the Chinese pledged themselves to remain west of the Great Wall.-
