COSTS AND PRICES.
I\. C. Simmons persists in ignoring what is, in the opinion of everybody who has studied the subject, the core of our economic troubles, i.e., the gap between total costs and total s prices. Space does not permit of a detailed explanation of this statement, but it can easily be proved to one's entire satisfaction. Until this gap is officially recognised and the appropriate remedy applied, it is useless arguing '•industrial control" or "planning" of any description. The gap between costs and prices cannot be bridged within the existing financial system. It necessitates a fundamental change in both the monetary and costing systems. It is therefore correct to say that our economic troubles arc due to financial causes and that the most urgent problem of the jnoment is inonetarv reform on sane, Christian principles. . -..-, - OILL. ,
