RIFLE SHOOTING.
AUCKLAND CITY CLUB. The Auckland City Defence Rifle Club's championship shooting was advanced a further stage on Saturday with a shoot at 200 yards and 300 yards. Tho rear wind had a tendency to fishtail, but conditions were In favour of good shooting. Spoons in their respective grades were won by A. J. Pleterson and A. AKARANA CLUB
The Akarana Hide Club continued its championship series over the ranges of two hundred and three hundred yards for trophies presented by the club, Mr. J. M. Kennie and Mr. S. Elliott. Conditions were a clear light and a variable rear fishtail wind, which proved to be troublesome to the marksmen at the long range. Sir. J. M. Uennie's trophy was won by J. Mills.
