POUTO BEACH CARNIVAL. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DARGAVILLE, this day. Tho Pouto annual sports, which were postponed from New Year's Day owing to adverse weather, were held on Saturday and were keenly contested. Tho proceeds of the sports and of the dance which followed will be donated towards the expenses of renovating the Maori church. The sports were held on the beach, where the spectators enjoyed shelter under large pohutukawa trees. Results : — Horse Events.—Best hack: L. Newman 1, J. McLeod 2. best paced hack: J. R. McLeod 1.
