SOCIAL GATHERINGS.
The annual picnic of the Women's Institute was held at Tui Glen, Henderson, laet Saturday. There was a large attendance of members and friends, and the president, Mrs. Loring, welcomed visitors from Swanson, Hobsonville and Whenuapai. All present had a very enjoj T nble time." and the children received toys and sweets. • • • • On the ,Eve of Squadron week-end a small dinner party was held at Mansion House, Kawau, the guest of honour being Mrs. Matt Silk, of Wauganui. who at her summer house, "Wild Acres," has hospitably entertained many Aueklanders. The guests were: Mrs. M. Silk, Mrs. R. Wilson (Malay State). Mrs. Trevor Brett, Miss Allison Pierce, Messrs. N. Edsmr, T. fianley, V. Ansell, T. Silk, W. Skilton and R.' Wilson.
