STORM SITUATION.
Increasing- in Gravity in U.S.A. And Canada. ESTIMATED 100 DEATHS. (Received 12 noon.) NEW YORK, January 25. The storm situation in the United States and Canada is increasing in gravity. It is reported that 100 people have been killed, including 13 in New York. Blizzards continue to rage from Maine to Minnesota, and even in Florida snow is reported. It is estimated that 1000 persons are clinging, to roof-tops and trees in various parts of the country in a desperate effort to save themselves from floods. A Vancouver message states that continued rain and snowslides on Friday further delayed workers endeavouring to reach isolated trains. Three men were killed at a Government relief camp, which was struck by an avalanche. On the main line of the Canadian Pacific Railway three others met a similar fate In the Nelson district nine other deaths are reported from exposure.
Numerous families have removed to low-lying lands, their homes being inundated. Live stock is perishing.
