JAPANESE STEAMERS.
RETURN TO NEAR TIRITIRI,
The two steamers, Komata and Kaimanawa, which, having been sold to Japanese ship-breakers, left port at 8.30 p.m. on Friday, anchored for the night about live miles outside Rangitoto beacon. On Saturday afternoon they resumed -their voyage, the Komata towing the Kaimanawa. They returned at six o'clock this morning and anchored in about the same position outside Rangitoto as they were on Saturday. It is surmised that towing difficulties arc being experienced, hut as the sea is calm it is not clear why the ships should have returned.
