AUCKLAND PROSPECTS.
DECLINE IN PRICES. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") DUNEDIN, this day. Representatives of wool buying firms left to-day for Auckland to attend the first New Zealand sale of this season. Opinion here is that prices are likely to decline in sympathy with the world's markets, and some flock owners will hold off in the hope of a rise in values later. It is thought that the wool right through New Zealand will be well up to standard quality. That is practically assured in the South Island, and it is as well that such is promised, inasmuch as severe losses in the high country during the early spring will reduce the quantity to come to market.
