GIRLS IN FREEZING WORKS.
As one who is "011 the, job," I should like to remark 011 a few points that I believe Mrs. Dreaver in her article of the 20th inst. overlooked. The girls commence work at 7.-' lO a.m., have half an hour for lunch, and finish work at 4 p.lll. They are requested to keep their white smocks clean, which the aprons fail to do, both requiring a crucial boiling twice a week. The girls cannot manage with less than two smocks and caps, for which they pay 4/0 and 1/!) each respectively. The word "rest room" may convey the wrong impression. The luncheon, dressing and rest room are one and the same, and at this time of the year, although patent catches are supplied, these rooms are literally black with ilies. Also the present day girl is not a "pioneer mother." INCOGNITO.
