WELLINGTON, Wednesday.

Farewell to the Chief Scout for New Zealand, the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, was said by the Dominion council of the Boy Scouts' Association when he attended its annual meeting to-day, and he was decorated with the honorary order of merit.

Mr. J. 11. Kirk was re-elected chairman of the council. The Rev. W. H. Orbell and Mr. G. W. Bishop, retiring members of the council, were re-elected. Sir George Wilson (Auckland), Sir Joseph Smith (Auckland) and AirMarshal Sir Robert Clark-Hall (Christchurch) were elected to the council.

It was decided that all members of the party going to the Melbourne jamboree should revert to the rank of scout, and that officers under Commissioner J. R. H. Cooksev, who will be in charge, should be appointed from them to hold temporary rank of special jamboree commissions to be conferred. It was stated that 233 would go, and would be away for about five weeks.
