AUCKLAND SUMMER SHOW
SPECIAL PRIZES ALLOTTED
Special trophies will be awarded for hunters, hacks and ponies at the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association's show in February, in memory of the late Mr. J. H. Scott.
Mr. Scott, who died in 1912, was a well-known farmer in the Waikato district, and after his retirement from farming lived in Auckland. He was intensely interested in hacks, hunters and ponies and made provision in his will for donations to be made to these sections at the Auckland Show. He was a vice-president of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association for many years. The prizes, which will be known as the Scott trophies, consist of a silver cup valued at 15 guineas for maiden hunters, a solid silver toilet set valued at 15 guineas for ladies' maiden hunters, a chiming clock valued at 12 guineas for the best lady's hack, two silver cups valued at 7 guineas and 5 guineas, respectively, for pony jumpers. In this class there is also a third prize of 1 guinea in cash.
