•ASSOCIATION AT OTAHUHU,
The final meeting for the year of the Otaliuhu Social Service Association was held in the Borough Council Chambers, the Mayor, Mr. H. T. Clements, presiding over a full attendance of members.
Several cases were reported for assistance, and necessary action taken. Last year's Christmas pared scheme proved a great success, and this year a special committee has been empowered to extend the benefits, and a sum of £25 was allocated.
Eulogistic references were made to the untiring services rendered by the Mayor and Mayoress towards the relief of distress in the district. The secretary, Mr. W. Kirkwood, was also praised for the excellent manner in which he carried out liis many duties.
In replying, Mr. Clements said that the association had gone through a very trying pe.riod. and it was only the loyal co-opcra-tion of members that had made the work possible.
