NATIVE REPORT.
ADDRESS BY MR. RICHARDS. •There was an attendance of about 300 a.t a meeting .in Charlton Ilall, Sandringham, addressed last night by Air. A. S. Richards, ALP. for Roskill, on the report of the Native Affairs Commission and aspects of Native Department administration. It was stated by the speaker that his criticism of Departmental administration should not bo' construed as_ a personal attack on the former Native Minister, but upon Cabinet and the Government. Cabinet and its supporters in the House had been responsible for granting the annual appropriations, but effective control had not been exercised, Where and how the money was spent should have been within the knowledge of the Alinistry.
Without dissent the meeting passed a vote of thanks and confidence.
