DOUGLAS CREDIT.
MB. H. ATMORE'S SUPPORT. The present monetary system was denounced by Mr. H. Atmore, M.P. for Nelson, in an address before a large audience at Kemuera last night. Mr. Atmore contended that the gi'eat need of the day was to get production into consumption, and this could only be done by letting the people have purchasing power to buy the goods. New Zealand had reached depths of despair and poverty through the financial system. The cure was the Douglas system, which lie had found to be quite sound J and which could be put into operation | in New Zealand in a very short time, j He urged his hearers to study the question and to do all they could to forward the movement.
