FARM EXPLOSION.
GELIGNITE CHARGE. LARGE TANK SHATTERED. YOUNG SUSPECT AKKESTEO. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) FOXTON, this day. An attempt was made to blow up a large shed and two 1000-gallon tanks on a farm on the outskirts of Foxton on Saturday. A charge of gelignite was placed inside one of the tanks, which was shattered, and damage was done to the frame on which it stood. The shed escaped practically undamaged. The owner of the property, Mr. E. Few, was sleeping in a whare nearby, and did not hear the explosion, which was probably deadened by water. He was in the shed at 10.30 p.m., when everything was in order.Detectives arrested on suspicion a young man who, it is understood, had been employed by Mr. Few in a woodchopping share contract.
