SATURDAY'S GAMES. UNIVERSITY IN LEAD. DEFEAT OF PARNELL. LARGE SCORE BY J. MILLS. The conclusion of the third series of matches in the A.C.A. senior club championship on Saturday resulted in firstinnings wins for North Shore, Y.M.C.A. and King's Old Boys, against Ponsonby, Parnoll and Grafton respectively, and a drawn game between Eden and University. This leaves University in the lead as the only team which has not yet suffered a loss. Despite the fact that the wickets -were firm, the batting performances generally were not up to expectation. J. Mills (Eden) hit up 165 runs in the course of four hours' batting against University, and Postles 61. these batsmen putting on 174 runs for Eden's first wicket. S. C. Hay made 52 for Parnell in a good effort to gave defeat for the side. In second innings efforts good scores were: W. R. Stallworthy (Ponsonby), 64, W. J. Scholium (Ponsonby) 62 not out, N. C. Sneddon (Ponsonby) 54, and T. H. Caughey (King's) 50. Good bowling performances were:—J. Cowie (Grafton) seven for 46, T. Lyon (Y.M.C.A.) five for 52, and R. Emery (Shore) four for 10.
