RIFLE SHOOTING.
AKARANA CLUB. The members ot the Aknrnna Rifle Club continued their second shoot for the second trophy series over the ranges of eight and nine hundred yards lor trophies presented by Messrs. F. It. Combes, A. M. Jenkinson and It. F. Wakefield in their respective sections. Conditions were difficult for good shooting, a light variable left wind and a changeable light giving the most experienced marksmen trouble. Details of the shooting are as follow :•—• Section A (trophy presented by Mr. F. It. Combes). —A. H. Dixon, 41 at 800 yds, 4(5 at 900 yds. total 87 ; E. J. C. Iteston, 45. 41—80; J. M. Ronnie, 43, 43—80: W. Powell. 41. 41—82: E. Holmes, 44. 37—81 ; J. R. Draflin, 34, 43—77; W. Colquhoun, 30, 30—72 : A. M. Jenkinson, 35, 20—64. Section It (trophy presented by Mr. A. M. Jenkinson).- —J. .Tones-I'arrv, 42, 47—01 ; T. Bovan. 38, 38—70; J. A. Perry. 3G, 36— Section C (trophy presented bv Mr. R. F. Wakefield).—L. Watts, 46, 30, handicap 13, total 100; J. Mills. 44, 45 (8)—07 ; J. Cossar, 44, 43 (10)—97; M. Rennie 36, 30 (20) —92; K. Ewington, 29, 22 (15) — 66; C. Gee, 29, retired. Shooting will be over the ranges of 800 and 900 yds next Saturday.
