REWARD INCREASED.
£200 for Identification of Murdered Woman. BAFFLING ALBURY CRIME. (Received 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. In addition to the reward of £500 offered for the arrest and conviction of the murderer of the woman whose (•harred body was found at Albury, the Government has offered a reward of £200 to anyone who can establish the woman's identity. Probably no greater campaign has ever been conducted by the police of Australia to establish a dead person's identity. -
The original reward of £250 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the murderer of the unidentified "pyjama girl" at Albiivy was increased ou September 30 to £500. The body of the girl, clad in pyjamas, was discovered half concealed in a culvert just outside Albury, near the border of New South Wales and Victoria, on September 2. For a time it ■wag thought that the victim, was an Auckland or Christchurch girl, but tine line of inquiry, altbougii extensively pursued, has yielded no tangible result bo far.
