UGLY HOARDINGS.
The Mount Eden Borough Council is perturbed over countryside beauty spots being spoiled by the erection of ugly hoardings, but there is no need to go so far away as the countryside to see spoliation of even a wor=>e type. " Within the council's own boundary, on a main thoroughfare, may be seen a hoarding that is more than ugly. It is nasty ar>S unwholesome and suggestive, especially to tne younger generation, it savours of barnyaru morals. There is nothing clever or humorous about it. The whole presentation is vulgar. Some years ago the same sign might ha\ B been seen at country railway stations, d> ll when the Department's attention was draw£ to the matter the offending posters were witndrawn. Now wo have the same poster on » much larger scale on the hoardings of oui city streets. Where is the CO » S O^ERVER .
