WOMEN'S DIVISION.

BRANCH REPORTS. Onewhero. —The branch meeting was held in the Onewhero Hall, and there was a good attendance. Much interest was' shown by the members in the horticultural and industrial show, which is shortly to be held in Onewhero. Mrs. Fourness" gavo a demonstration in very attractive bead work. The competition for the best way of using up odd scraps of wool was won by Mrs. Damon, with a hag, in a handsome all-over pattern in coloured wools. Mrs. Crawford won second prize with a cushion decorated with wool rosettes. Mrs. J. W. Henderson presided.

Mangere.—A talk was given by Mrs. A. G. Talbot on "Animals and Their Hidden Emotions" at the August meeting. The outfit of woollen baby garments made by Mrs. Purdom for exhibition at the Winter Show was given by her to the branch to bo sold, and proceeds to go to the funds. At the September meeting, Miss Dineen, of Remuera, gave an account of her visit to the Continent, and vividly described the Wall of Remembrance at Geneva. In October the branch celebrated its second birthday, when sixty visitors from other branches were entertained. Mrs. Harold King and Miss Nancye Hanna each sang delightfully, and Miss Ruth Kirkhrido gave humorou* sketches. Mrs. Noel Adams addressed the meeting and congratulated the branch on the progress made in the comparatively short time it had been formed. A sketch entitled "Allotments," presented by Mrs. Backhurst and Miss Manktelow. concluded the programme. The birthday cake, which had been presented by the president, Mrs. 11.
